The Purpose of the Project
The project aims to create a sustainable network between Izmir and Ljubljana with a focus on the Drought and Wetlands Protection Action Plan to be prepared by exchanging information on drought and wetlands protection against the negative effects of drought.
Main Activities
- Drought and Wetlands Conference in Ljubljana and İzmir
- Field Trip to İzmir Gediz Delta and Ljubljana Marsh
- Awareness Raising Activities in İzmir and Ljubljana
- Preparation of an Action Plan for Drought and on the Protection of Wetlands for İzmir and Ljubljana
- Closing Event in İzmir
- Evaluation Activities
Expected Outputs
– Two conferences were held in İzmir and Ljubljana for the preparation of an Action Plan for Drought and on the Protection of Wetlands.
– Drought and Wetlands Protection Action Plan for İzmir and Ljubljana was prepared and published in two languages (Turkish and Slovenian).
– Awareness campaigns were organized in İzmir and Ljubljana to raise awareness among students, farmers and the public about drought, its impacts and the importance of wetlands.
– A sustainable network on drought and its impacts was established between İzmir and Ljubljana.
