The Purpose of the Project
The aim of the project is to build sustainable relations between Mersin and Klaipėda Municipalities with a focus on environmental protection and combating climate change, to increase climate change adaptation in Mersin and to develop a Roadmap for Increasing Coastal Resilience and to raise public awareness on this issue.
Main Activities
- Good Governance Activities in Green Future (Green Growth, Blue Economy Seminars for Members of Mersin Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Workshops in Mersin and Klaipėda on Climate Adaptation Plan; Mersin Climate Science Center Workshop for Children; Online Consultation Meeting for Roadmap for Increasing Coastal Resilience)
- Preparation of Scientific Documents Related to the Climate Action Plan
- Youth Bridge Hackathon for a Green Future in Mersin and Klaipėda
- Study Visits to Mersin and Klaipėda
- Dissemination Activities
Expected Outputs
– The Coastal Resilience Roadmap was developed for Mersin and Klaipėda.
– As a result of Hackhaton activities in Mersin and Klaipėda, young people developed solutions for coastal resilience.
– Children, youth, NGOs and the business sector raised awareness on climate change adaptation in coastal areas.
