The Purpose of the Project
The project aims to raise children’s awareness of climate change adaptation by developing virtual reality applications focused on environment/climate change and to strengthen the dialogue between local actors in Türkiye and Italy.
Main Activities
- Preparation of the training content
- Development of VR Forest virtual reality tool
- Mid-term meeting in Lecco, Italy
- Implementation of pilot awareness activities by Yenimahalle, Buca and Lecco Municipalities
- Online meeting of the International Experience Sharing
- Online meeting to become a member of European networks to combat climate change
- Establishment of “VR4Climate” platform in Turkish, Italian and English
- Campaign Activities
- Dissemination meeting
Expected Outputs
– The sustainability of the work done and the continuation of the cooperation between Türkiye and Italy were ensured with the VR4Climate platform created.
– Educational materials for children and young people on climate change were developed.
– Prepared in 3 languages (Turkish, English, Italian), the VR Forest virtual reality tool enabled children to experience the effects of climate change through a forest simulation.
– As a result of the activities and training events, the awareness of children in Türkiye and Italy on the impacts of climate change increased.
– Meetings and campaigns were organized to disseminate the results of the project.
